"Voters are angry at the political establishment and the political establishment doesn't much care for the voters either. In fact, they think voters are pretty damn stupid."

"72 percent of those governing officials think the public has little or no knowledge about policies to aid the poor. 71 percent believe that they have little or no knowledge about science and technology. And across eight different policy areas, never more than 6 percent of those surveyed thought the public possessed a "great deal" of knowledge on the topic."

"With such a low opinion of the American public, perhaps it is not surprising that the vast majority of these political insiders believe they should ignore public opinion. At least 78 percent of those surveyed thought that actions in all eight policy areas should not always or even mostly heed popular sentiment."

"Sunstein, Obama's Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, even co-wrote a book in 2008 called Nudge: Improving Decisions about Health Wealth, and Happiness that lays out how the government can use behavioral psychology to more efficiently achieve policy goals. They dubbed it libertarian paternalism."

Two boxes of Clinton emails unaccounted for: report

Among the FBI's lengthy report are its notes from a 2015 interview with an unnamed Office of Information Programs and Services (IPS) employee, which were heavily redacted.

The notes say that IPS officials were told that there were 14 bankers boxes of emails at Clinton's home, but when they were picked up from her lawyer's office, there were only 12.

The report also points out that emails dated from early 2009, at the start of her term, were missing. The FBI said it's not clear if she was using another email address at that time.

“Initially, IPS officials were told there were 14 bankers boxes of former secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails at Clinton’s Friendship Heights office,” the employee told the FBI.

“On or about December 5, 2014, IPS personnel picked up only 12 bankers boxes of Clinton’s emails from Williams & Connolly,” they added, referring to a law firm associated with the Clintons.

U.S. appeals court weighs appeal by Silk Road website creator

"A U.S. appeals court on Thursday appeared skeptical of a bid by Ross Ulbricht, the creator of the underground website Silk Road, to overturn his conviction for running an online marketplace for drugs but left open the possibility of cutting his life sentence"

"Joshua Dratel, Ulbricht's lawyer, told the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York that his client was prevented from introducing evidence of corrupt acts by two government agents in the probe, depriving him of a fair trial."

"Dratel said jurors should have been allowed to hear evidence related to two government agents, Carl Force and Shaun Bridges, who later pleaded guilty and received prison terms for stealing bitcoins during the investigation."

"Silk Road operated for more than two years, generating $213 million in sales while allowing users to buy drugs and other illicit goods, prosecutors said."

"The website, which relied on the Tor network, was seized by authorities in 2013 as they arrested Ulbricht, who they said operated it under the alias Dread Pirate Roberts."

The first Dread Pirate is still fighting for his freedom. If you guys don't know the story Ulbricht founded the silk road, it's goal was harm reduction in the war on drugs. The government (illegally) gained access to the site and brought it down. There is no doubt Ulbricht or DPR(Dread Pirate Roberts) founded and made millions off the site (in college that website was the shit, best stuff out there no doubt), the problem is that the government blocked the MANY legitimate defenses DPR had including the fruit of the poisonous tree defense that states the government can not use evidence against you gathered illegally. Even if you dont find the war on drugs a vile overreach and waste of taxpayers dollars as I do, the subversion of the courts by the feds should be a concern. This case set many dangerous precedents in regards to our digital rights.
