White House says FBI director not trying to influence election"

President Barack Obama believes FBI Director James Comey is a man of integrity and is not trying to influence the U.S. presidential election by announcing scrutiny of additional emails linked to Democrat Hillary Clinton's private server, the White House said on Monday.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest also said he has no "independent knowledge" of how Comey had arrived at his decision to make public the FBI email investigation or "what factors were considered" in his decision to discuss the issue publicly.

Among Clinton's enemies, a taint of illegitimacy would hang over her. House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin has already called on the director of national intelligence to suspend classified briefings for the Democratic nominee. "She was entrusted with some of our nation's most important secrets," Ryan said in a statement, "and she betrayed that trust by carelessly mishandling classified information." Shouts of "Lock her up!" would continue long after the campaign is over.

The United States has never elected a presidential candidate who is facing a potential criminal investigation. If Clinton gets elected and then indicted, and the House of Representatives continues to have a Republican majority after next week's election, Clinton could face moves to impeach her the day she takes office.

DOJ Tells Congress It Will Work 'Expeditiously' To Review Huma's Emails... There Is Just One Problem

Now that the FBI has obtained the needed warrant to start poring over the 650,000 or so emails uncovered in Anthony Weiner's notebook, among which thousands of emails sent from Huma Abedin using Hillary Clinton's personal server, moments ago the Us Justice Department decided to also finally join the probe, and as AP reported moments ago, it vowed to dedicate all needed resources to quickly review the over half a million emails in the Clinton case.

...

And yet, something felt odd about this.

Kadzik... Kadzik... where have we heard that name?

Oh yes. Recall our post from last week, Clinton Campaign Chair Had Dinner With Top DOJ Official One Day After Hillary's Benghazi Hearing in which we reported that John Podesta had dinner with one of the highest ranked DOJ officials the very day after Hillary Clinton's Benghazi testimony?

It was Peter Kadzik.

"...In other words, the best friend of John Podesta, Clinton's Campaign char, at the DOJ will be in charge of a probe that could potentially sink Hillary Clinton...."

Eric Schmidt offered Clinton camp memo on how to build individualized data files for every voter

The chairman of Google's parent company offered to help Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton build a file on each voter in the United States.

The data could be used door-to-door to help sell Clinton and even the Affordable Care Act, said Eric Schmidt, the chairman of Alphabet Inc.

The pitch was posted on WikiLeaks Monday morning. The email was forwarded to Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta, whose Gmail account was hacked in March.

We'd damned well better make this kind of thing illegal ASAP!

LEAKED EMAIL SHOWS DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE COORDINATING WITH CLINTON CAMPAIGN

Contributed by: smkngman3

Source

Well, a new email published by Wikileaks would appear to answer that question in the affirmative. On May 19, 2015, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon emailed Hillary Clinton:

DOJ folks inform me there is a status hearing in this case this morning, so we could have a window into the judge's thinking about this proposed production schedule as quickly as today.

Fallon, who previously worked at the Department of Justice, apparently is coordinating with "DOJ folks" on the Clinton campaign. He is telling Hillary Clinton, in an email chain that includes Clinton lawyer Cheryl Mills and Abedin, about a court hearing related to Clinton's emails that he was informed of by allies that work at the Department of Justice.

It appears that political appointees like Attorney General Loretta Lynch and others at the Justice Department put pressure on the FBI to protect the Clinton campaign. The question is, how far did the coordination go?

FEC Complaint Accuses Clinton Campaign of Illegally Coordinating With David Brock Super PAC

The Campaign Legal Center filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission on Thursday that accuses the Clinton Campaign of illegally coordinating with David Brock's Super PAC Correct the Record.

The CLC's complaint alleges Correct the Record has made $5.95 million in in-kind contributions in the form of coordinated expenditures that were accepted by the Clinton campaign. The complaint alleges such contributions violate the Federal Election Campaign Act ("FECA"), 52 U.S.C. ยง 30101, et seq., and Commission regulations.

The Correct the Record super PAC was founded in 2015 by David Brock to act as a rapid response team in support of Hillary Clinton's run for the presidency. Brock is a longtime Clinton supporter and founder of the left-wing media watchdog group Media Matters. To support the Clinton campaign, Correct the Record launched the "Barrier Breakers 2016" project. According to a press release, the project created "digital task force" to "push back" against negative stories and comments about Clinton posted by users on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Instagram.

Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein accused The Daily Beast, a popular news and opinion website, of hiding its ties to the Clintons after publishing an attack on Stein's investment portfolio on Wednesday.

"Jill Stein's Ideology Says One Thing-Her Investment Portfolio Says Another" declared the headline for an analysis of Stein's investments and finances by Yashar Ali. The article suggests that Stein has millions of dollars invested in mutual funds which support industries she opposes on the campaign trail, including fossil fuels and the military-industrial complex.

"If Mr. Ali is truly interested in conflicts of interest of political candidates and their families, where is his disclosure on the conflict of interest posed by Chelsea Clinton's position as a director of the corporate owner of the Daily Beast, IAC?" Stein fired back in a detailed response sent to the Daily Beast prior to publication and published to her campaign website in full on Wednesday.

Two Early Voting Charts That Look Disastrous For Hillary

Contributed by: Alan McLemore

Source

Both Clinton and Trump have highlighted early voting statistics that suggest their campaigns are performing well relative to the 2012 campaigns of Obama and Romney. That said, new statistics presented by the New York Times on early voting in several states seem to reveal some devastating trends for team Hillary.

As background, early voting has grown substantially over the past 2 decades and now accounts for roughly one-third of all votes cast.

More states are offering early voting, Michael McDonald, a political science professor at the University of Florida, said. "Once a state adopts early voting, more people vote early as a part of their election regimen," he said.

The modern resurgence of early voting can be traced to 1980, when California lifted a requirement that voters must have an excuse to vote early. Other states in the West followed. In 1996, Southern states like Florida, Tennessee and Texas began to allow in-person early voting in special satellite polling locations.

Another landmark year in early voting was 2001, when a legal challenge was brought against Oregon's early voting laws. The decision in that case, Voting Integrity Project v. Keisling, set a precedent mandating that early voting should be allowed, as long as votes were not officially counted before Election Day.

US vs. Russia in Syria: A Battle to Control the Truth

Contributed by: s k

There is a dangerous leader heading an irrational state who is deploying forces to Syria he insists are fighting terrorists. His decisions have led to numerous civilian casualties and the threatening of nuclear confrontation with his nation's ideological foe. Domestically, his administration has jailed journalists and silenced critics in government, and since WWII, his country's intelligence services have meddled in the elections of dozens of countries and are now contemplating a cyberattack on its hegemonic rival. His administration maintains alliances with corrupt juntas and religious fundamentalists while championing domestic and foreign policies that have done little to rein in the country's violent nationalism, intolerant nativism, police brutality and enriching of the few at the expense of the many.

His name is Barack Obama. One could certainly be forgiven in thinking it was Vladimir Putin, since his justifications for Russian policy are strikingly similar.

CIA Releases Controversial Bay of Pigs History

Contributed by: smkngman3

Source

Washington, D.C. October 31, 2016 - The CIA today released the long-contested Volume V of its official history of the Bay of Pigs invasion, which it had successfully concealed until now by claiming that it was a "draft" and could be withheld from the public under the FOIA's "deliberative process" privilege. The National Security Archive fought the agency for years in court to release the historically significant volume, only to have the U.S. Court of Appeals in 2014 uphold the CIA's overly-broad interpretation of the "deliberative process" privilege. Special credit for today's release goes to the champions of the 2016 FOIA amendments, which set a 25-year sunset for the exemption: Senators John Cornyn, Patrick Leahy, and Chuck Grassley, and Representatives Jason Chaffetz, Elijah Cummings, and Darrell Issa.

The Rich behind Hillary Clinton

Contributed by: lindajoyous

Source

Democrats in the United States who supported socialist Senator Bernie Sanders like those who currently support Hillary Clinton, accuse the Republican party of being the "The party of the rich."

They accuse Republican candidate Donald Trump of being the symbol of the "elite" because he is a famous billionaire but you have to analyze things before you judge. You have to analyze who is the candidate that really represents what Democrats like to call the "elite".

Hillary Clinton, the current Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United States, is the candidate that has received the most donations from billionaires and corporations, yeah, the "elite".

Investigating Donald Trump, F.B.I. Sees No Clear Link to Russia

Contributed by: Nevin , RTIII

Source

WASHINGTON - For much of the summer, the F.B.I. pursued a widening investigation into a Russian role in the American presidential campaign. Agents scrutinized advisers close to Donald J. Trump, looked for financial connections with Russian financial figures, searched for those involved in hacking the computers of Democrats, and even chased a lead - which they ultimately came to doubt - about a possible secret channel of email communication from the Trump Organization to a Russian bank.

Law enforcement officials say that none of the investigations so far have found any conclusive or direct link between Mr. Trump and the Russian government. And even the hacking into Democratic emails, F.B.I. and intelligence officials now believe, was aimed at disrupting the presidential election rather than electing Mr. Trump.

Trump To Weiner: "Thank You"

With even The White House not standing by their candidate's narrative, perhaps we should all thank Anthony Weiner...

"We never thought we were going to say 'thank you' to Anthony Weiner."

- Fox News (@FoxNews) October 31, 2016

DONALD TRUMP: This is the biggest scandal since Watergate. Hillary wants to blame everyone else for her mounting legal troubles. But she has brought all of this on herself.

Hillary is the one who set up an illegal private e-mail server in a closet to shield herself from her illegal activities. Hillary is the one who engaged in a pay-for-play scheme at the State Department. Now there are five FBI probes into the Clinton Foundation and their pay-for-play activities. Very, very deep investigations.

Hillary is the one who sent and received classified information on an unsecure server, putting the safety of the American people under threat. That's what she did...

650,000 emails. You know what I call that? That's the motherlode.

I think you will find the 33,000 that are missing, the 15,000 that are missing, the facts that are missing.

You know they had boxes of e-mails missing two weeks ago? I think we hit the motherlode, as they say in the good old mining industry.

Hillary is the one who lied to Congress under oath. Hillary is the one who lied on so many different occasions to the FBI. And they know, they know. They know Hillary is the one who made 13 phones disappear. Some with a hammer.

Hillary is the one who destroyed 33,000 e-mails, after she got the subpoena. After. Before, no good. But after? No, that's why something should have happened then.

Hillary is the one that broke the law over and over and over again. We can be sure that what is in those e-mails is absolutely devastating. And I think we are going to find out, by the way, for the first time.
