This goes far beyond simply tampering with devices or "forgetting" to activate them in crucial situations. According to an affidavit filed by a former police department employee, Albuquerque officers are tampering with the recordings that actually make their way back to the PD's cloud storage.

Dakota Access Contractor With Blackwater Ties Heads Protester Surveillance, Violence Escalates

"I know that people have been complaining that their cellphones have been down", he continued, "their internet has been down. That can be caused by surveillance weaponry targeting their devices." Scahill describes how phones and computers belonging to water protectors can be used as "geo-tracking devices."

He speaks of scores of reports indicating sophisticated electronic surveillance of those attending the resistance. Water protectors-alongside physical police and security contractor surveillance-have described blocked Facebook access, and shadowing. This motivated millions to "check-in' at Standing Rock via social media, attempting to confuse police surveillance.

Although Morton County has matter-of-factly denied conducting electronic surveillance, Scahill disagrees. He references "internal documents" from regarding investigations into contracted dog handlers.

Critique of Guardian article, "How the Democrats could win again if they wanted"

Dayanmao writes...

It's a lot of words for a lightweight piece. Praising Warren and Ellison while ignoring Warren's actions and Schumer's ascendance. Writing that Bush won because of his working class policies (what were those? I'm a rich Daddy's Frat boy?) without mention of Gore's campaign or Lieberman, or massive voter disenfranchisement in places like Ohio and Florida - along with the S.C. decision.

While rightly criticising what passes for Liberalism in the U.S. among the elites he never mentions how the real elites maneuvered such a disliked candidate into running for office while totally rigging virtually every aspect of the primaries. While it's nice to read such critiques, it also misses the forest for the trees when it ignores our hopeless, hapless, intentionally fraudable, election systems.

Sure the elites are out of touch, everyone knows that. They always have been. He mentions the elites listening to NPR for confirmation of their views without mention it's now majorly funded by the Kochs and is just as much a propaganda outlet as MSNBC and FOX.

There's much wrong with our elections, our candidates, and the political parties, but it's not that they're clueless. It's that they've been thoroughly corrupted by money.

Watergate-Era Church Committee Staffers Urge Leniency for Snowden"

FIFTEEN STAFF MEMBERS who worked on a well-known bipartisan intelligence watchdog committee wrote to President Barack Obama and Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday requesting the administration negotiate a plea agreement with former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

"There is no question that Edward Snowden's disclosures led to public awareness which stimulated reform," wrote the staffers who served on the U.S. Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operation with Respect to Intelligence Activities - called the Church Committee, after its chairman, Idaho Sen. Frank Church.

"Whether or not these clear benefits to the country merit a pardon, they surely do counsel for leniency," the authors continued.

Aleppo: How US-Saudi Backed Rebels Target 'Every Syrian'

Ahead of my trip earlier this month, I was interested to see what might have changed following the liberation of still more areas by the SAA. I also hoped to speak with civilians who had fled the terrorist-held areas of Aleppo's eastern districts since I had last visited, during which time eight humanitarian corridors had been established for civilians and members of terrorist factions willing to relinquish their arms or to accept safe passage to areas in Idlib and government-secured parts of western Aleppo.

However, on Nov. 4, no one fled terrorist-held areas of Aleppo. Family members of civilians still there say their loved ones are being used as human shields by groups like the Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham, or Nour al-Din al-Zenki - the so-called "moderate rebels" and "opposition forces" backed by the United States, NATO, Israel and Gulf allies like Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The Democratic National Committee leadership and the party's operatives gambled with the lives of working-class people when they went all in for Hillary Clinton, a wildly unpopular candidate with an out-of-touch strategy. They lost that bet. Donald Trump won the election, and now we'll be paying for their mistakes for the next four - or, god forbid, eight - years.

You might think these elites would be chastened into reflection. That they might take a few weeks off to consider where they went wrong and recognize Bernie Sanders's success as a sign that millions of people want something different than Clinton-style politics. That they might even get out of the business altogether, having lost to a parodic orange strongman who stumbled into so many scandals that it felt like he was trying to lose the election.

RawStory Bans People For Posting Facts That Damage Hillary Clinton

Welp! It's finally happened. I got banned from RawStory!

Comment that did?

Didn't Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer co-sponsor a bill that would criminalize burning the American flag? In 2005?

Trump is what you get when your Democratic Party flirts with fascism at the highest level. The Democratic Party has aided and abetted this filth instead of sincerely opposing it. Imagine if such a bill had passed or lead to the SCOTUS case weakening the 1989 decision as intended? Trump now would be talking about executing flag burners instead of stripping them of their citizenship. I no longer support Democrats, precisely because I no never want to support Republican Fascism.

I see that no criticism of Democrats from the Left is allowed anywhere, no matter how justified. They're not done purging, even after their horse lost to a buffoon. Doubling down on stupid.
