Half of Detroit votes may be ineligible for recount

One-third of precincts in Wayne County could be disqualified from an unprecedented statewide recount of presidential election results because of problems with ballots.

Michigan's largest county voted overwhelmingly for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, but officials couldn't reconcile vote totals for 610 of 1,680 precincts during a countywide canvass of vote results late last month.

Most of those are in heavily Democratic Detroit, where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662.

According to state law, precincts whose poll books don't match with ballots can't be recounted. If that happens, original election results stand.

Sounds like built in corruption to ignore potential vote manipulation and ensure the "desired" outcome.

Wells Fargo is successfully convincing judges that forged arbitration agreements are legally binding"

Now those millions of defrauded people are trying to sue Wells, and Wells is arguing that the binding arbitration agreements on accounts that you didn't open are also binding -- that by having your signature forged on a fraudulent application, you waived your right to sue.

What's worse? Courts are buying it.

In dismissing one large case seeking class-action status in California, a federal judge ruled last year that it was not "wholly groundless" that customers could be forced to arbitrate over accounts they had never agreed to. That case is now being settled, according to legal filings.

In a statement, Wells Fargo said it was working with customers to reimburse any improper fees. If the issues are still not resolved, the bank offers free mediation services. Arbitration, the bank said, is a "last resort."

Don't Buy David Brock's Blame Game for Clinton Loss

In his speech at the first major gathering of Democratic lawmakers since the election, Brock expressed his anger at the "disaffected millennials who sat on their hands in the most consequential election of our lives."

Brock's narrative that Hillary Clinton's loss is the fault of the millennial voters who supported the primary campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders is laughable. It's worth noting that Anna Greenberg, an informed political professional who followed Brock as a speaker at the State Innovation Exchange conference, was quick to distance herself from his baseless "analysis."

But the Brockian delusion is dangerous because it gives the corporatist elements of the Democratic Party an excuse to avoid the hard questions that need to be asked in light of Trump's win.

(Delusional) Harry Reid says the Democratic Party is perfectly fine and would have won without Jim Comey

"I mean, if Comey kept his mouth shut [about Hillary Clinton's email investigation in the final days before the vote], we would have picked up a couple more Senate seats."

In any event, the Post's story was really all about PropOrNot's list and, in contrast to FPRI, the organization remains fully opaque. What is PropOrNot trying to hide? One possibility: The Pentagon. The Defense Department is, after all, spending billions of dollars a year on information warfare, and has, under Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, been promoting the idea of Russia as an existential threat to the US.

One indication of some level of Pentagon involvement is the curious role of Joel Harding, whose own blog identifies him as a retired longtime military intelligence officer specializing in "information operations, strategic communication and cyberwarfare"-in other words, psychological warfare and propaganda. Harding, who denied (via an email conversation with me) any connection to the 30 or 40 "volunteers" alleged to be working at PropOrNot, is nonetheless the only named "analyst" whose work is cited as a rationale for listing any of the sites on PropOrNot's list....

DNC Must Re-enact Ban That Was Removed to Enable Hillary Victory Fund (PERMITTED BY OBAMA)

After winning the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 2008, Barack Obama enacted a ban on lobbyists and PAC donations to the Democratic National Committee (DNC). "We will not take a dime from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs. We're going to change how Washington works. They will not fund my party. They will not run our White House. And they will not drown out the voice of the American people when I'm president of the United States of America," Obama told a crowd in Bristol, Virginia, while campaigning in June 2008.

But in 2015, then-DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, without any protest from the Obama Administration, rescinded that ban. At the time, Sen. Bernie Sanders was emerging as a surprising viable challenger to Hillary Clinton's candidacy. Sanders' disavowal of accepting money from Super PACs helped create a grassroots fundraising machine which threatened to raise more money than Clinton's campaign under the DNC rules at the time. Wasserman Schultz removed the ban on lobbyist and PAC donations, opening up the opportunity for the DNC and Clinton campaign to develop a joint fundraising committee, the Hillary Victory Fund, and reel in big donations from PACs, lobbyists and wealthy donations. The joint fund was exposed in May 2016 for laundering money through state Democratic Parties to circumvent campaign finance laws. "Less than 1 percent of the $61 million raised by that effort has stayed in the state parties' coffers," reported Politico.

GCHQ and the NSA have spied on air passengers using in-flight GSM mobile services for years, newly-published documents originally obtained by Edward Snowden reveal

Technology from UK company AeroMobile and SitaOnAir is used by dozens of airlines to provide in-flight connectivity, including by British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa, and many Arab and Asian companies. Passengers connect to on-board GSM servers, which then communicate with satellites operated by British firm Inmarsat.

"The use of GSM in-flight analysis can help identify the travel of a target-not to mention the other mobile devices (and potentially individuals) onboard the same plane with them," says a 2010 NSA newsletter.
